In 1995 Perth's newest and biggest ice rink opened at in Cockburn (Cockburn Ice Arena - CIA). Several Ice Hockey players helped in the construction and fit-out of the rink which today still presents with the best Ice in Western Australia.
Almost as soon as the rink opened, a group of players from the 3 existing clubs in WA (Wildcats, Flyers, and Ice Dogs) relocated to the Cockburn rink and began training. At that time, they had not chosen a name for the club. At a post training gathering the name Hawks was chosen.
The Hawks have now been competing in the West Australian Ice Hockey Association (WAIHA) Ice Hockey League since 1997. The Hawks have brought home championships in all age divisions from Peewees to Super League.
As the largest Clubs in Western Australia we have teams represented in the following divisions: To qualify in a division, the player must be under the age limit as of December 31 of the current season.
The Hawks Club does not yet have a full female team however we have a large number of female players of all ages and skill levels in teams currently ranging from Peewee to Adult.
We move to our new home (a state of the art twin rink) in April 2015 right next door to Adventure World.
